Helen is committed to strong and clear communications with both clients and regulators. Her extensive NSW and QLD local government and private consulting experience has proven to be an asset towards achieving environmental solutions for property owners and developers.

Helen has specialised experience in sewage and wastewater management. She will listen to your needs and design a tailored plumbing solution, ranging from the basic septic tank to commercial package treatment plants and greywater reuse.

Mark Tunks - Principal

Qualifications

Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health)

Experience

Mark has over 35 years experience in environmental assessment in local government and private consulting providing contaminated site investigations and remediation solutions, including groundwater assessment.

Mark has managed projects with consortiums of researchers, landholders and industry groups while in local government and leading to practical solutions in the specialist area of acid sulfate soil and water quality investigations.

Kerry Hawken - Office Manager/CAD

Experience

Kerry’s skills in managing clients, accounts and workflows at HMC have come from valuable experience in the high pressure corporate worlds of the mining and medical industries. Her previous studies includes landscape architecture and she has used these drafting skills to become proficient in Computer Aided Drawing. Converting design diagrams, GIS and field data to scaled digital plans has proven to be a real bonus for HMC.

Taylah Richards - Graduate Scientist

Qualifications

Bachelor of Marine Science & Management (Marine Biology/Coastal Morphology)

Experience

Taylah has brought her knowledge of coastal ecology and investigative reporting skills to the team. Majoring in coastal morphology has proven to be an asset with site and soil assessments to resolve wastewater and contamination issues for development projects.

Her knowledge of environmental monitoring programs has also been used for the surface water and groundwater monitoring HMC carries out for several coastal development projects.

Matthew Flanagan - Graduate scientist

Qualifications

Bachelor of Environmental Science/Bachelor of Marine Science & Management (Natural Resource Management)

Experience

Majoring in natural resource management has proven to be an asset with site and soil assessments to resolve contamination issues and waste management for development projects. Matthew is also proficient in Computer Aided Drawing and data management for in-house tasks.

His knowledge of environmental monitoring programs has also been used for the surface water and groundwater monitoring HMC carries out for several coastal development projects.

SOPHIE VELEGRINIS - OFFICE ASSISTANT

Qualifications

Sophie is currently studying a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University and working with HMC part-time.

She brings her strong organisational skills to the HMC team, ensuring our referrers and clients have a steady stream of communication.
